Challenge: Faced with the fortunate challenge of continued growth, mergers and acquisitions.. Winebow outgrew their previous distribution center. Solution: Winebow contracted with trusted Systems Integration Partner, W&H Systems, Inc. to develop space calculations for a new distribution center and to deliver a material handling system that would have the capacity to keep up with continued & projected growth in sales volume.
DC Highlights:
- 196,000 square foot building shipping over 3,500 SKU's with bottles ranging from $10 - $3,000 in resale value.
- Shipping on average 4,800 - 5,400 Cases per shift, with peaks exceeding 10,000 cases per shift. Each case containing about 12 bottles.
- Temporary labor costs have gone down by 60%
- Order Accuracy levels are now exceeding 99.9%. There are 2-3 months reaching 100% accuracy.
- Label based wave-picking system, for optimized full case picking sequence.
- Reverse Truck Loading Sequence, First In Last Out based on delivery routes.
- 2 level Mezzanine for space optimization. Home of conveyors, sorters and full case pick modules.
- Virtual Routing System to that prepares and separates orders based on retail orders and wholesale orders. Winebow distributes to store level and wholesales to other distributors.
- In-line security camera systems to verify all orders were completed and loaded onto the delivery truck.
- Efficient lighting and clean warehouse keep employee's positive and working hard.
